Sweets have been an integral part of Bengali Culture since time immemorial. To celebrate the simplicity and minimalism inherent in the variety of sweets, the architect designed the interior project of the Art café and Sweets of Bengal, where anyone could enjoy the wide diversity of sweets with a cup of hot coffee while enjoying art.

The driving idea behind the project was to exercise intensively with materials and the diversified textures it can offer to enhance the ambiance of a café interior. The marriage of Concrete, Wood, Kota Stone, and Mild steel created a rustic yet sublime mood for the visitors. To give a difference in setting, a raised deck (traditionally called patatan), RCC walls, and railings were constructed using local construction techniques and methods to accommodate the guests and artwork. The purity and honesty of the materials and the diversity of textures offered through the usage and introduction of construction techniques created a minimalist, bold look for the café interior. The architecture took shape overlooking the serene, quaint landscape of Gulshan Lake, which was reflected in the interior through the introduction of various indoor plants to provide an artistic respite full of sweet delicacies from the busy, bustling urban lifestyle.
