Situated on the bank of the Turag River, the Dhaka Boat Club is designed as a recreational boating and social club for the members offering them a unique social interaction space. The riverine country of Bangladesh ignited the passion for boating stemming from human curiosity and interest. This passion inspired the Architects at JHA to design the club respecting the context and incorporating the vista towards the Turag River.

As per the values of the architectural journey of JHA, the Boat Club was designed to respect the magnificent river view. The Architect intentionally limited the occupancy of the interior spaces allowing users to enjoy the outdoor spaces and the scenic surrounding views. The Boat Club facilitates communal gathering fostering social connections and bonding within its several well-articulated interactive spaces.

The open terraces establish a visual connection between the different levels of the building which was inspired by the traditional and local balcony-centric urban design. The interior, exterior, landscaping, and the physical and visual connection in between demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in executing the design and materializing the vision of a modern recreational social club that sits well adjusted and is of utmost respect towards its surrounding context, environment, and surroundings.
